AN-147 Low Cost IC Stereo Receiver
The LM3089 FM IF System does all the major functions necessary for FM processing, including a three stage amplifier/limiter and balanced product detector, as well as an audio preamplifier.
FM stereo demodulation is accomplished by the use of the LM1800 phase locked loop, thereby eliminating the need for external coils.
The AM function of the receiver is done completely with the LM3820 AM radio system. While designed for 3 section tuned superheterodyne application.
The LM382 dual preamplifier was selected for its minimum parts count and low noise capability.
Panel meters are employed in the FM system for both signal strength and center tuning, allowing for easy and accurate tuning. A directly driven LED offers immediate indication of FM stereo reception.
A single transistor tone control circuit was designed as the optimum cost/performance trade-off. The transistor is configured in a shunt-shunt feedback design, allowing gain variations between input functions.
The stereo power section, consisting of the LM378 dual audio amplifier, delivers 3W/channel with total harmonic distortion (THD) less than 1% and 4W/channel with THD less than 10%,

Recently i captured this circuit in eagle to publish online, it seems to have a small design error. It worked well for many years. The step-down transformer is used as a step-up here. The secondary winding was around 50mA so the resistance was protecting the 2N2222. (SL100 was used in the original one). C1 and R3 may need tweaking to get the desired adjustment range in R2.
Circuits using only discrete devices
The voltage across the speaker is fed to C1-Gnd, which blocks DC component. R1, R2, R3 form a threshold bias for T1. 2N2222 chops the 12V DC in tune with the music. The chopped DC current flowing in the 12V winding of TR1 is stepped up into AC pulses over 100V, this lights the Neon in flashes synchronizing in real-time with the beats. Known Issues - It does not perform well at low Bass like 20Hz.

I ran all the alsa and pulseaudio rituals. I got some luck, after updates audio was gone again. This device solves the problem. I suggest all linux users who have the "Dummy Audio Syndrome" to just use this device called USB Sound Card or USB Sound Adapter.
In the 386 days, it was a "SoundBlaster Card" for Music and Mic. Monitors had the "Trident SVGA card" both PC-Cards not integrated on Motherboard to get Audio and Video going. Now all things are onboard. In the future all things on one Silicon Chip or maybe One Graphene Slice. It will be called "The Tortilla"

This device is fully functional sound card for PC. The main advantage of using PCM2704 against PCM2702 is much easier construction. As you can see on the block diagram it has built-in 5V and 3.3 voltage regulator, HID interface (MUTE, VOL+, VOL-), S/PDIF output.

Delta sigma converters are different from other converters. Note that I do not make a difference between analogue-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analogue converters (DAC). Both are very similar and what is realized in one of them using analogue signal processing circuitry is implemented in the other one using digital signal processing and vice versa. I will explain the delta sigma technique with the analogue-to-analogue delta sigma converter as the first object.

They are also easy to build.Similar to transmission lines, the TQWT is different by its shape, a kind of horn is used as back load but the driver is not placed at the beginning of the cone as usual but on its side.
In closed boxes, the back wave of the speaker should be completely absorbed (= converted in heat) by the damping material.As the speaker is nearly transparent to sonic waves, if a back wave returns after a reflection on the back wall, some part will also come out through the speaker with some delay giving a not very clean sound.
