pcDuino is a high performance, cost effective mini PC platform that runs PC like OS such as Ubuntu Linux. It outputs its screen to HDMI enabled TV or monitor via the built in HDMI interface.
The platform could run full blown PC like OS with easy to use tool chain and compatible with the popular Arduino ecosystem such as Arduino Shields and open source projects etc. It can also run Android 4.0 ICS.
A Tiny Computer on Arduino Footprint
Early this year, LinkSprite released a powerful mini PC platform that combines the benefit of an ARM based mini PC and Arduino ecosystem: pcDuino, which represents pc + Arduino. pcDuino is pin to pin compatible with Arduino so that existing Arduino shields can be installed on pcDuino with a simple translation board (T-board). By being compatible with Arduino ecosystem, pcDuino is a platform that bridges the power of open software linux and the power of open hardware.
Use Arduino Uno with pcDuino
pcDuino has all the hardware interface that Arduino Uno has to offer. Still, there are chances that people run pcDuino just as a mini PC and use Arduino UNO together with it. All the Arduino UNO programming can be done by running Arduino IDE on pcDuino.
